Welcome!
This website will provide you with connections (See "Links" on the left) to a number of websites that will help you prepare for the Accuplacer math placement exam. Some of the sites are designated specifically as preparation for the exam; others are to help you review math concepts and skills in general. The hope is that individuals will use these resources and others available to prepare before they take the exam.
Before you get started, here are some facts about the Accuplacer math placement exam:
1) The exam is done on a computer and is untimed.
2) It has three parts - Arithmetic, Elementary Algebra, and College Level Math.
3) It is adaptive, meaning that the difficulty level of the next question you get on the exam depends on your success or failure with the previous question. If you answer a question incorrectly, the next question will be less difficult. If you give a correct answer to a question, the next question will be more difficult.
4) No books, notes, or graphing calculators are allowed on the exam. There is a simple four-function "pop-up" calculator embedded in the test that may be used for some problems on the exam, and most colleges permit its use.
Good luck as you prepare!
